Miami Dolphins Release Quarterback Daunte Culpepper

The one year experience in a Miami Dolphins uniform ended for quarterback Daunte Culpepper after the NFL team released the former Pro-Bowler on Tuesday.

Culpepper joined the Dolphins in 2006 after undergoing major knee surgery. The 30-year-old former Minnesota Viking played in just four games last year before being sidelined to continue rehabilitating his knee.

Miami acquired former Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Trent Green in the offseason and then informed Culpepper that he would not be allowed to fully participate in team workouts. Shortly after that move Culpepper had a breach-of-contract grievance filed on his behalf by the NFL Players Association. That hearing was set for Wednesday but because the Dolphins agreed to release Culpepper the quarterback agreed not to pursue the motion.

In 85 games Culpepper has thrown for 21,091 yards and 137 touchdowns.
