Mitt Romney -- From Presidential Candidate To Olympics Advisor

It seems candidates in the fray for 2008 U.S. presidential election are leaving no stone unturned during their presidential campaign. Mitt Romney has now geared up to offer his advice to Chicago on how to win and run the 2016 Summer Olympics. Chicago is trying to bid to host the 2016 Summer Olympics. Apart from Romney, there are various other big names who have offered advice the Olympic committee on how to run the Summer Olympics. These include a former baseball commissioner and the Masters Golf Tournament chief.

Mitt Romney, who is currently leading the opinion polls as the Republican candidate, is not a naïve in this regard. He had played a pivotal role in rescuing the scandal-plagued 2002 Winter Games held in Salt Lake City.

Romney is believed to have advised Chicago to build relations with people inside the International Olympic Committee. He also felt that efforts should be made to train a large number of volunteers who would help during the games, rather than paying money to people for the same work.

Besides Chicago, there are other cities competing to host the 2016 Summer Olympics. Some of these include Rio de Janeiro, Doha in Qatar, and Madrid City in Spain, Tokyo in Japan and Baku in Azerbaijan.
