Justin Timberlake opens restaurant

Justin Timberlake opened a restaurant in New York City on Wednesday called Southern Hospitality. The singer co-owns the restaurant with friends Trace Ayala and Eytan Sugarman.

Southern Hospitality is a barbeque restaurant that specializes in the kind of food Timberlake grew up on- ribs, buttermilk biscuits, crab and corn fritters. Many of the recipes came from his family.

“We had to negotiate on which ones she was willing to give up,” said Timberlake, speaking of his grandmother’s dessert recipes.

Timberlake’s grandparents went to the grand opening as well as stars including Jay-Z, Lance Bass, Seth Green, Jamie Lynn Sigler and Rev. Al Sharpton.

Timberlake says his favorite entrée on the menu is “fried green tomatoes and the pulled pork.” Southern Hospitality is not Timberlake’s first restaurant; he owned a Chinese restaurant in West Hollywood called Chi.
