AMERICANS DEMAND A NEW CHOICE IN WASHINGTON

CBS/NY Times Poll Respondents Want New People in Congress

In a nationwide poll conducted February 5-10, 81% of Americans nationwide expressed their desire to “give new people a chance” to represent them in Congress. Only 8% felt “most members of Congress deserve reelection.”  CBS News and the New York Times surveyed 1,084 adults and asked, "Do you think most members of Congress have done a good enough job to deserve reelection, or do you think it's time to give new people a chance?" 81% said “no,” 6% said “depends on the candidates,” 5% were unsure, and only 8% said “yes.”

Tim Cox, founder of GOOOH, (Get Out of Our House, pronounced “go”) has been leading the effort across the country to do just that, replace all 435 members of the House of Representatives in the 2010 election. When told of the survey he said, “Another day and another national poll proving America is ready to replace the politicians in Washington. GOOOH offers the solution America seeks – our challenge is to inform America there is a way to make it happen this year.”

Cox, a computer systems whiz and former executive at Dell, quit his job to support the GOOOH movement full time. His website, www.GOOOH.com, is on the way to over a million visitors. The goal is to enlist 500,000 Americans to select citizen candidates to run for Congress in every district in the nation.

GOOOH is not a third party, but if it were one, it would be unlike any other. The platform would have a single plank – term limits. GOOOH takes no position on political issues, but instead relies on the good judgment of its candidates, who, because they take no special interest money, represent their districts free of party or donor influence.
