Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are hosting a ‘Welcome to America’ party for British friends David and Victoria Beckham. The soccer star and his wife arrived in the U.S. with their three sons on July 12. The couple moved to America after David signed a contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy soccer team.
“We are all so excited about moving. The boys actually think they’re moving to Disneyland!” the former Spice Girl said.
Tom and Katie are teaming up with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith to throw the party. “Invitations went out all over Hollywood. They where printed on red velvet with tacky gold lettering,” a source to the New York Post. The invitations read: “Please join Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes and Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith in welcoming David and Victoria Beckham to Los Angeles.
The party will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday. The couple’s arrival to America was anything but quiet. Victoria, or Posh of the Spice Girls, appeared in a one-hour special on NBC called “Victoria Beckham: Coming to America.” Her soccer star husband will also appear in his own TV series, “David Beckham’s Soccer USA,” that follows his first season with ‘Galaxy.’
Beckham is expected to debut with ‘Galaxy’ on Saturday during Galaxy’s game against Chelsea, but may have to sit the first game out due to an ankle injury.
