2010 Winter Olympics Results Men’s Nordic Combined Individual Normal Hill: Johnny Spillane Becomes First American to Medal in Event, Takes Silver
While France’s Jason Lamy Chappuis finished atop the podium in the men’s Nordic combined individual normal hill at the 2010 Winter Olympics there was plenty to celebrate for Johnny Spillane as he became the first American to ever medal in the event.
Chappuis was able to grab gold with a powerful finish in the cross country skiing portion, narrowly edging Spillane who was within .4 seconds of the top spot.
Italy’s Alessandro Pittin was able to grab the bronze.
