Hilary Duff speaks against Joel Madden’s relationship with Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were spotted at the Chateau Marmont in LA and two tables down sat Madden’s ex girlfriend Hilary Duff. Richie was said to be “keeping a close eye” on Joel because of Duff’s presence.

Duff and Richie have never been fans of each other ever since Joel started dating Nicole soon after he and Hilary split. Duff has not commented on Madden’s relationship until now.

In the August issue of Seventeen magazine Duff says Joel and Nicole’s relationship is a “rebound” and she “felt disrespected that he moved on so quickly.”  

“It would have been cheesy to be a couple that just loves to go out and get photographed. So you do wonder why they do it now when they were so against it before?” Duff comments on Joel’s new lifestyle since getting with Nicole.

A friend reveals the reason Richie dislikes Duff. “Nicole use to hate it when Joel talked to Hilary and got really jealous. Hilary has five businesses and tours around the world. Nicole is just an ex-reality star. She wants to be taken seriously, not just be known for doing nothing.”
