David Beckham will not play debut game

Soccer wonder David Beckham disappointed hopeful fans as he announced he won't be making his much anticipated Major League Soccer debut on Saturday due to an ankle injury.

Beckham sustained the injury June 7 during a game for his former soccer team and has been treating it ever since. “At the moment it doesn’t look good that I’m going to play. It’s more important to me personally that my ankle is right, and I don’t think it’ll be right for the game,” Beckham told ESPN.

Although it looks as if the 34-year-old soccer star will be benched on Saturday's game against Chelsea; Beckham says the decision is better in the long run, “I’m here for five years,” he says.

Beckham is also getting his only reality TV show titled "David Beckham's Soccer USA," that will follow his first season playing for the Los Angeles Galaxy. His wife, Victoria Beckham, and their three children moved to the United States after he signed a contract with Galaxy.

Meanwhile, Victoria is so desperate to get their three boys, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz into an exclusive American school she will do anything she can, even promise free gym classes taught by David.

Victoria was doing everything, like baking cakes—everything possible,” David says about his wife efforts. “I actually think I’m going to be the school P.E. teacher! She promised everything possible to get the kids in the school they liked. She’s done well.”
