The producer Lindsay Lohan’s new movie “Poor Things” says that rumors of the film being cancelled is not true. The movie was rumored to be cancelled due to the producer’s concern over the 21-year-old actress’s post-rehab partying.
The troubled actress checked into rehab in June after she crashed her car into a curb and police found her blood alcohol level above California’s .08 limit. Lohan was released from Promises rehab center in Malibu on July 13, only days later the “Mean Girls” star was seen parting with friends in Las Vegas.
The rumors started when an email from a set designer claimed the film was being cancelled. The alleged email read: “Poor Things has been cancelled. Sorry to be the harbinger of bad news, but I just received a call from Jacky Gilardi, the producer, pulling to plug on the ill fated film. Apparently, Ms. Lohan’s antics in Las Vegas over the weekend have scared the bond companies and all the funding has been pulled. I look forward to working together in the future and trust our next project will not be as fraught with difficulty.”
Producer Robert Hickman says the rumors are not true. “The film has not been cancelled,” he says. “Any rumors saying differently are just that—rumors.”
