“I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry” overtakes “Harry Potter” at box office

At the box office ‘Chuck and Larry’ over took "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" with an estimated $34.8 million while the Potter movie only took in $32.2 million. Coming in third place is ‘Hairspray’ with $27.8 million.

‘Chuck and Larry’, starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James, is a comedy about to firefighter pals who act as ‘domestic partners’ in order to qualify for job benefits. They are forced to publicly act gay or be exposed.

Nikki Rocco, the Universal head of Distribution, said, “I’m not going to under estimate Adam Sandler and his fan base in the middle of summer. We’re by far the No. 1 film.”
