Actor Steve Martin to wed Vogue journalist

Steve Martin has proposed to Anne Stringfield, a Vogue journalist, and the couple is set to tie the knot soon.

Martin was married to Victoria Tennant until 1994 and then dated actress Anne Heche. The ‘Father of the Bride’ star recently finished writing a memoir titled ‘Born Standing Up,’ in which he recalls his father severely beating him.

In the book Martin describes how his father beat him so severely that he had welts all over his body and had to wear long pants and sleeves to cover them up.

“But I swore with icy determination, that only the most formal relationship would exist between my father and me, and for perhaps 30 years, neither he nor I did anything to repair the rift,” the 61-year-old actor writes.

The book is due out in December.
