Laila Ali wed NFL Star Sunday

Laila Ali, who is a well known boxer and a “Dancing with the Stars” finalist, married Curtis Conway, a retired NFL star, in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The happy couple met almost 2 years ago when Conway hosted a party at his house and Ali went with a friend. “People think she dominates the relationship, but she’s a sweetie pie,” Conway said.

As for the wedding, Ali told PEOPLE magazine, “I don’t want a poufy dress.” So, for her special day, Ali chose a silk, champagne ‘mermaid gown’ by Amy Michelson.

“Laila’s approach to the wedding was simple but elegant. There were no lions and tigers and bears. It was about the love,” said wedding planner, Juliet Ryan.
