Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) has announced that it has been awarded with a contract by the United States Army to produce the Family of medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV). Oshkosh was one of three competitors bidding for the contract and selected after a review and recommendation by the Government Accountability Office (GAO). The FMTV is a series of vehicles that are comprised of 23 variants and 17 different models that range from 2.5 ton and 5 ton payloads. The company will manufacture both medium and heavy tactical vehicles in the US defense industry, producing over 70,000 military class vehicles in its facilities.
