Country Music singer Mindy McCready arrested

Country music singer Mindy McCready was arrested on misdemeanor charges that she attacked her mother and scratched her on the face, and resisted deputies. McCready was freed on a $1,000 bond.

Melody Inge, McCready’s mother, called police on Saturday and reported that her daughter was drunk and attacking her by scratching her on the face. The 31-year-old country singer denied all accusations of attacking her mother and said police used too much force during the arrest.

“I was holding my baby at the time. They tackled me. They didn’t give any directions. They just tackled. There was no reason for it. To take down a woman holding a baby, it’s just not right,” McCready claimed. Police say that the baby was taken from McCready before they wrestled her to the ground. McCready had to be subdued in the prison with pepper spray.

This is not the first time McCready has faced trouble with the police. In 2004 she was convicted of fraudulently obtaining prescription painkillers. In 2005 she was charged with a DUI while she was on probation for the first offence. McCready was found not guilty for the DUI but was found guilty for driving on a suspended license.

McCready had a hit song in 1996 titled “Guys Do It All the Time.”
