The lower tiered candidates struggled to get debate time but according to USAElectionPolls.com, Joe Biden still came out the winner in the debate.
According to the popular polls compilation website, USAElectionPolls.com says that Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama's goals were to keep with the status quo. The last thing a candidate at the top of the polls wants to do is be controversial.
That sets up the lower tiered candidates to remain controversial in a push upwards. Bill Richardson was firm on getting the troops out by the end of the year. To congress he said, "just get it done". Joe Biden was all over the place by highlighting his foreign policy experience and his writing of legislation. Chris Dodd, Dennis Kucinich, and Mike Gravel did not stand out any more than they do in other debates.
The authors at USAElectionPolls.com asked the following question based on his performance at Monday's debate: "If you are a Democrat, wouldn't you want Joe Biden fighting a pro-war Republican candidate in the general election?"
