Early on in February Americas Energy Company made the announcement that the acquisition of Evans Coal Corporation was complete.
"We plan to continue the operations of Evans Coal Corporation as a wholly owned subsidiary of Americas Energy Company. The purchase includes the Highway 92 project and the Artemus project as well as a substantial coal reserve property in Breathitt County, Kentucky," said Chris Headrick, President and CEO of AENY. Mr. Headrick added, "We have acquired permits from Evans Coal Corporation that will allow us to, as contracts are placed, increase our monthly coal production to approximately 100,000 tons per month in an effort to meet the needs of specialty coal buyers around the world."

Americas Energy Company (AECo), formerly Trend Technology Corporation, is operating a surface mine project to produce steam and specialty coal in Kentucky and is in the exploration stage of a metallurgical coal project in Tennessee. The Company is evaluating several additional coal projects, as well as an oil and gas rework project in Southeastern Kentucky. The Company has established a coal brokerage division to market its production and to coordinate the purchasing and distribution of coal from other independent miners in the region. Its projects include Bell County, Kentucky, and Bledsoe County, Tennessee. In January 2010, the Company announced the merger with Americas Energy Company, Inc. In February 2010, the Company acquired Evans Coal Corporation.
