Burger King Plans to Sell Starbuck's Seattle's Best Coffee

Financial World News Update by Equities Magazine

Burger King Holdings Inc. announced plans begin selling Starbuck Corp’s Seattle’s Best Coffee at its locations by the fall. The chain, the second largest U.S. hamburger franchise in the world, has plans to make improvements on the breakfast menu. Burger King, likely inspired by the success of McDonald’s McCafe, said it would serve up Seattle's Best coffee and espresso drinks in approximately 7,250 U.S. locations by September. The new beverages will sell for $1 to $2.79.

Starbucks Corp. has been working to expand the Seattle’s Best brand via partnerships with franchises such as Subway and now Burger King.

Burger King is hoping that the inclusion of coffee drinks will help bolster weak U.S. breakfast sales that have plagued the fat food industry. McDonald’s McCafe served the same purpose and has seen a good deal of success for the company.

McDonald’s is the only hamburger chain to have more locations than Burger King.
