DVD rental chain Redbox has approved a new policy to begin delaying rentals of Warner Bros. releases for 28 days after they become available for purchase.
The deal closes the door on a lawsuit filed against Warner Bros. home video unit in August of 2009. Redbox, which offer DVD’s via kiosk felt it was being unjustly prohibited from purchasing discs from wholesalers.
Prior to the settlement, Redbox had been paying elevated rates from retailers.
