FBI arrests a man who attempted to extort $1 million from Tom Cruise

An Arizona man was arrested by the FBI and accused of trying to sell Tom Cruise a set of stolen wedding photographs from his marriage to Katie Holmes in Italy. The man, David Hans Schmidt, is believed to try to extort more than $1 million dollars the actor.

Schmidt tried to contact reps for Cruise concerning the pictures that were stolen. Schmidt has a past of releasing celebrity sex videos. Cruise’s reps called the FBI after Schmidt contacted them.

In the past Schmidt had been involved in several other attempts to sale explicit images of stars including Jamie Foxx, and a picture of U.S. soldier Jessica Lynch topless. He also contacted Paris Hilton and Colin Farrell before he released their images.
