Novavax Inc. (NASDAQ: NVAX) announced Tuesday that the pharmaceutical company has elected Stanley Erck chairman of the board.
Erck is replacing John Lambert effective immediately.

Erck is a former president and CEO of Iomai Corp. and a former executive for Genzyme Corp. (NASDAQ: GENZ). He also serves on the board of BioCryst Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: BCRX).
Lambert will remain a director with the company. He had been chairman since March 2007.
In morning trading, Novavax shares rose 5 cents to $2.45.
