IBM (NYSE: IBM) announced Tuesday that the company has acquired network automation software firm Intelliden Inc., according to Associated Press.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Intelliden's software allows telecommunications companies to manage their networks by automating the configuration of hubs, routers and switches. The company said more than 60 percent of network outages are caused by manual configuration mistakes.
Intelliden will be folded into IBM Tivoli software, which is a part of the IBM Software Group.
Shares of IBM Corp. rose 70 cents to $124.70.
