People’s Choice Podcast Awards Voting Begins Saturday July 28th

The Third Annual People’s Choice Podcast Awards voting gets underway on July 28th with 100's of thousands expected to participate.

Podcast Connect is proud to announce that over 335,000 people nominated 4097 podcast during the 15 day nomination period for the third annual event, with over 6 million nomination submissions in the 22 different categories.

The team of 42 listener volunteers worked for 8 days, and through a review and grading process was able to finalize the final slate of 220 shows posted earlier this week. "The slate of nominated shows is very diverse and new this year is a best video category in which garnered a huge number of nominations said Todd Cochrane the awards founder and CEO of Podcast Connect."

Listeners turned out in record numbers to nominate their favorite shows. Voting commences on Saturday July 28th and last through August 11th with an expected 25 million votes lower category winners will be announced in mid August.

Cochrane will present the top awards in September at the Podcast and New Media Expo in southern California with Platinum Sponsor Wizzard Media during the annual recognition ceremony.

The Podcast and New Media Expo addresses creation techniques, business objectives and future trends and it draws influential podcasters and other digital content developers, who also attend the awards ceremony.  The third annual Expo opens September 28 in Ontario, CA.
