Man Behind Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Wedding Photo Scandal Arrested
Federal agents arrested an Arizona man on Tuesday for allegedly trying to extort more than $1 million from actor Tom Cruise.
According to reports David Hans Schmidt had obtained photos of the Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes wedding from last year and threatened to publish them unless he received the large sum of money.
The criminal complaint filed against Schmidt was under seal and a judge set bond at $100,000.
It is unclear how Schmidt obtained the photos but he has become well known for attempting to broker deals that involve celebrities and their belongings. The 47-year-old has also been trying to auction off personal items of Paris Hilton that were taken from a storage unit earlier this year.
