Leonard Nimoy Continues Spock Legacy in New “Star Trek” Movie

Leonard Nimoy has spent more than 40 years being cast as Spock, the pointy eared Vulcan from Star Trek and the 76-year-old isn’t quite ready to just hand the role over to the next generation.

With the announcement of a new Star Trek movie due for release around Christmas 2008 Nimoy is prepared once again to go where most men have never gone before. This time he’ll be sharing the role with “Heroes” star Zachary Quinto who will be playing a younger Spock.

Both Nimoy and Quinto were introduced at the Comic-Con convention on Thursday, much to the delight of the nearly 7,000 fans.

While Nimoy has locked up a part in the movie the role of Captain Kirk, traditionally filled by William Shatner, has yet to be cast.
