Ron Paul - Has Arguably More Substance than Opponents

Ron Paul has more substance and vision than simplistic platitudes about the Iraq war and immigration.

Paul talks about government fiscal responsibility. Federal deficit spending can have one of two results to the American economy. Government will have to print more money and have everybody's net worth be devalued because of a weakening currency. The second option is to have an  increase the interest rate so that investors are willing to invest. That will hinder business development. Paul clearly points out the flaws in our current government spending practices and currently attributes the Chinese purchasing of our economy as being disastrous to our economic well-being for the future.

Ron Paul speaks up about the protection of individual liberty by blasting the Patriot Act as unconstitutional. Even the Democratic candidates have been weak about this issue.

Ron Paul protects and speaks up about the second amendment. Paul explains that the second amendment is necessary for the average American to protect himself and would strike fear into the hearts of criminals that decided to do harm. Controversial as it may be, he explains that if the government followed the second amendment, 9/11 could have been averted.

Ron Paul speaks the truth about the dooming state of social security. Other presidential candidates want to project a state of happiness and hope so that voters have a favorable impression of them. Ron Paul  speaks up about what needs to change instead of gauging public opinion and changing his views accordingly. Paul  wants voluntary participation in the social security program.

Unlike Rudy Giuliani, he is openly willing to discuss abortion as a pro-life candidate.

Unlike Mitt Romney has had a consistent view on abortion.

Paul consistently follows the principles of the Constitution and uses that as the basis of his beliefs. For that reason, he is able to keep a consistent view on many subjects and is therefore willing to talk about them.

Ron Paul may not resonate well with the majority of America but he is the only Republican candidate that has been willing to talk about a multitude of issues thus far on the campaign trail. He will flourish in the unpredictable CNN/YouTube debate format coming up in mid-August. Romney and Giuliani have yet to state whether they planned on attending the debate and many in the online blogging community are blasting them as "cowards" because they are unwilling to face the American people's questions.
