George Karl Diagnosed With Throat Cancer

Already a survivor of prostate cancer, Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl has now been diagnosed with neck and throat cancer.  Karl will undergo radiation and chemotherapy in an attempt to treat the disease.

Despite the seriousness of the situation and the fact that he will likely have to miss some games and practices, Karl has expressed his desire to remain with the team and continue to lead them to a possible championship.  Assistant coach Adrian Dantley will serve as interim head coach during Karl’s absence.
