Chief Justice John Roberts hospitalized after fall

Chief Justice John Roberts was hospitalized after he fell on Monday. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance but it is unclear what injuries he may have suffered. The fall happened around 2 p.m.  Justice Roberts was transported from his home on Hupper Island in Maine to an ambulance.

“He was conscious and alert when they put him in the rescue (vehicle) and took him to the Penobscot Bay Medical Center,” said Fire Chief Tim Polky.

Roberts, 52, is the youngest justice on the court. He has two young children. A spokeswoman for Roberts said he was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
