'Lost and Found' named to 2009 Golden Canon

"Lost and Found: The Younger Unchurched and the Churches that Reach Them" has been named to the 2009 Golden Canon, Leadership journal’s annual list of the 10 books most valuable to church leaders.

"Lost and Found," co-authored by Ed Stetzer, LifeWay Research director; Jason Hayes, young adult ministry specialist at LifeWay; and Richie Stanley, team leader at the North American Mission Board’s Center of Missional Research, explores the data drawn from multiple surveys, polls and face-to-face interviews with unchurched individuals. The book provides commentary that puts the results of that research in context and also examines the methods of several churches that are successfully reaching young adults. "Lost and Found" was published by B&H Publishing Group.

"We’re thankful for ‘Lost and Found’ being recognized on the Golden Canon list," Stetzer said. "This book focuses on a very important issue facing the current church and the church of the next generation. Young adults are both current and future leaders of our churches. It’s critical that we understand who they are, what they think and how we might engage them for the cause of Christ.

"‘Lost and Found’ was written with the hope that the conversations we had and the research we conducted, as well as our collective experiences doing ministry among young adults, would help church leaders better understand ways to impact this unchurched, but not unspiritual, generation."

Winners of the Golden Canon Leadership Book Awards are selected by a group of more than 100 pastors and leaders, including contributing editors for Leadership. Winners are selected in two categories: The Leader’s Inner Life and The Leader’s Outer Life, under which "Lost and Found" was named.
