Drug Rehab Focuses On Helping Loved Ones & Giving Back As Key Part Of Treatment

Anyone familiar with addiction and its ability to destroy a family knows that someone suffering with an addiction to drugs or alcohol removes themselves from the family unit regardless of how hard their loved ones work to save them. Often times this manifestation can be mistaken for not caring, not loving, or not being interested in the feelings of those closest to the addict. In reality, an addict will remove themselves either emotionally or physically from those closest to them in an attempt to protect those people from the all consuming addiction an addict is feeling. One drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility, Narconon Louisiana, recognizes this phenomenon and enlightens clients on how to focus on such moral traits as honor and help your parents by employing a unique course called The Way To Happiness.

Narconon Louisiana is a non-traditional drug and
alcohol rehab that does not subscribe to the idea that addiction is a disease. Instead, clients work one on one with a counselor to identify what problems drugs and/or alcohol were solutions for. Part of Narconon Louisiana’s unique approach to rehabilitation is to educate clients on morals, and what is expected of them from society. As is most often the case, addiction prevents people from interacting with society and their loved ones in the way life is intended.

The Way To Happiness is a common sense guide to morals. It is basically a how-to guide on how to go about life once the drugs and alcohol are taken out of the equation. Mark Thompson*, a recent graduate of The Way To Happiness course explains, “I had tried several times to quit drinking. Each time I got sober I found life almost unbearable. I kept thinking to myself, ‘why would anyone want to live without alcohol, life is too hard’ and each time I had that thought it was only a matter of days before I was back to the bottle.”

Mark goes on to say, “When I got to Narconon Louisiana I knew it was different, but I didn’t know if that would matter, then I read The Way To Happiness book and realized that all the other times I tried to get sober I didn’t even know what was expected of me, I didn’t even know that I should be acting any differently.”

The Way To Happiness goes over several different moral traits and is one of the last courses that clients complete before graduating from this inpatient rehab. Along the way clients also focus on detoxifying their bodies, which eliminates the ever-present cravings that are so often the catalyst for relapse and they handle those traps in the mind which force the person to use when life gets hard.

Achieving an unheard of 76% success rate, Narconon Louisiana has become a leader in the field of addiction. Drug and alcohol abuse does not have to go unhandled. If you or anyone you know is in need of help please contact
