Celebrate jazz, food and Florida vacation rentals with DestinationVillas

August 2007 brings a celebration of jazz to Florida's Gulf Islands. Jazz on the Islands is the first annual month-long event, combining the flavor of the Gulf Islands and the sound of sax, swing and smooth jazz to Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key and other grand Manatee County locations. Local artists will include KoKo Ray, John Dewey, the Diane Linscott Trio and Tom Barrett's Sophisticated Jazz. Island venues included are Banana Cabana, the Sun House, Jessica's Beach Lounge in Bradenton Beach, the Sandbar in Anna Maria and Euphemia Haye on Longboat Key.

Getting from one venue to another will be easy and entertaining aboard the free Island trolleys, which feature musicians Bob Mofffitt, Mark Mannio and T.K. Mizunuma.

Other performers include John Rinell, Chuck Caudill and Jazz Mo at the Beach House restaurant in Bradenton Beach. Featured at Da Giorgio Ristorante are the Ron Barber Trio, Project SRQ and John Young Trio. The Herb andHarris Jazz Trio will be playing at the Ooh La La Bistro. Finally Skip Cook will be playing at the Beach Bistro.

Jazz also will be featured on the mainland at the East Village Cabaret, Mattison's Riverside at Twin Dolphin Marina and Zio’s Old World Italian in Bradenton, Fred's and Mainstreet in Lakewood Ranch and the Prime Outlets in Ellenton. For more information visit www.jazzontheislands.com
