2010 Winter Olympics Results Snowboarding Men’s Halfpipe Finals: Shaun White Unchallenged, Picks Up Gold to Repeat as Olympic Champion

Shaun White continued to display his dominance on a snowboard as he destroyed the field on Wednesday night en route to his second consecutive Olympic gold medal in the men’s halfpipe and his first of the 2010 Winter Olympics.

White put the contest away early as he scored a 46.8 on his opening run, a total no other snowboarder matched. The closest to catching White was Finland’s Peetu Piiroinen who secured silver after a second round run of 45.0.

Piiroinen’s 45.0 moved him past American Scott Lago who had to settle for bronze after he couldn’t improve on his first round total of 42.8.

With the Olympic gold already secured White’s second run meant nothing yet the American put together the best run of the night with a 48.4.
