Kevin Federline says since he is finally divorced from Britney Spears, he wants to focus on raising their two sons in a secure environment away from the paparazzi. His lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, said the aspiring rapper wants to give his sons the opportunity to “pretend they’re like everyone else.”
Federline and Spears were officially divorced Monday. The pair will share custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James. “When they are with him, he is going to shield his children from the unwanted media attention. You will not find a picture of Kevin parading with the children out in a public place,” Kaplan says.
Although Kaplan said Federline refuses to address Spears’ wild behavior, reports say that Federline isn’t pleased with Spears, and feels she is not suitable to care for their sons. Federline reportedly wants full custody of the boys.
“He doesn’t want to do anything that would be perceived as taking her down a peg. His goal is to keep things between him and Britney private,” Kaplan said. “There’s a proper forum to discuss issues with a co-parent. That place is not in the public eye.”
