Listening to an interview with Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards might leave you with the impression that the 63-year-old rocker has lost track of the past forty years, but publishing house Little, Brown and Company is confident that what Richards does remember is worth reading about.
The rock god/cultural phenomenon agreed to a $7.3 million deal to pen his memoirs and the best part for Richards is that won’t even have to write a word. Long time friend and author James Fox is believed to be the one who has received the assignment of putting Richards memory down on paper.
Richards’ memoir was at the center of a bidding war, a battle that eventually was won by Little, Brown and Company.
After reading a few samples from the book publisher Michael Pietsch said, “The range and type of stories was exactly what you would hope to hear. The memories and the emotions, people wonder if he remembers anything, but I wish my memory was that good.”
