“The View” chooses Whoopi

Lady’s of “The View” announced that they have chosen Whoopi Goldberg as Rosie O’Donnell’s replacement. The actress and comedian said she is looking forward to taking her place on the talk show.

“I’m looking forward to the hot topics. The thing I’m looking forward to least is getting in between everyone talking at one time,” Goldberg says.

Goldberg filled one of two open seats. The next seat’s replacement has not been announced yet. Elizabeth Hasselbeck says that Goldberg was her favorite contender. Other candidates for the seat included Gayle King, which they said “just wasn’t happening,” and Roseanne, whom they said was too expensive and “past her prime.” Sherri Shepherd came in close but Goldberg was the winner.
