Rudy Giuliani is Everyone's Hero

Ask anyone old enough to have been an adult on the September 11th massacre and you will undoubtedly find people who admire the former mayor of New York City who showed leadership and dedication when it mattered most. Perhaps it was the fact that he did not mind allowing himself to show the emotions that were affecting so many of the constituents or maybe his popularity could be found in the fact of stubborn refusal to be bought and sold as a commodity if it meant compromising his stances.

When he entered the race for the republican nomination with respect to the 2008 presidential election, he quickly shot to the forefront of the field. Polls compiled on USA Election Polls showcase that in virtually every polling summation he is the leader of the pack, with other candidates nipping closely at his heels. While at times making political points with a variety of Mercedes divide statements, early polls indicated that Giuliani may indeed be everyone’s favorite hero.

Considering that in January Gallup afforded him 40.5%, those who still had any doubts that this at times enigmatic former mayor was a serious contender were silenced. Not surprisingly, he was named Time Magazine’s person of the year in 2001 and his fame thus entered the mainstream and led to those far removed from New York to learn about the accomplishments this mayor is being credit with. Thus, firefighters and police officers around the country see him as one of their own, and his willingness to stop by and sit down with those in these professionals lends him an easy credibility that other candidates find it hard to imitate.
