From First Lady to Nominee Hopeful - Hillary Rodham Clinton

Peruse the state wide poll results shown at USA Election Polls and you will find that there is hardly a state that does not like Hillary Clinton. Even some of the traditionally republican strong holds show that she is being taken serious in her quest for the democratic nomination and her fundraising success showcase her ability to rally not only strong supporters, but to also support from those who in the past might not have really contributed to any candidate. Consider, for example, that her January figures for the state of New Jersey were at 35.5%, while in July the polls indicated a 46% poll rating.

It is interesting to note that Mrs. Clinton has not entered the race on the spur of the moment but instead has taken her time to gradually prepare for the event as well as accurately gage the support she would most likely receive from her party. Thus first rumors of a run in 2008 surfaced as early as 2002 even though they were neither confirmed nor denied.

Her meteoric rise from First Lady to junior senator and now presidential hopeful is quite possibly due to her ability to be all things to all people. Mrs. Clinton has the uncanny ability to connect with voters on not just the emotional level, but to also appeal to reason and logic at the same time. Thus, it is not surprising that while many consider her to be a liberal; others consider her to be through and through a moderate.
