R&B singer R Kelly, whose real name is Robert Kelly, is set to go on trial September 17 for child pornography charges he received five years ago. Kelly is accused of video taping himself having sex with an underage girl. Defense attorneys have argued the girls age and says she could be as young as 13. They also have debated whether Kelly is even on the tape.
Kelly, 40, pleaded not guilty to the charges. If convicted the singer faces up to 15 years in jail.
Kelly’s hits include “Wonderful,” and “In The Kitchen.” He also released a DVD set of “hip-hopera” skits.
