Tennesse Titans quarterback Vince Young was involved in a minor altercation with safety Donnie Nickey Wednesday during training camp. As Young stepped back to throw a pass, Nickey hit wide receiver Joel Filani, who was coming across the middle. Young threw the pass to wide receiver Courtney Roby, whom Nickey tackled with one arm, catching Roby in a chokehold. As Roby laid on the field for a few moments, Young ran over to chastise Nickey for his overaggressive play during practice. Nickey put his hand on Young's chest and Young followed with a swing with his throwing arm.
The commotion was broken up by teammates, as both parties apologized for the incident. After practice the two hugged and blamed it on the heat of the moment. However, teammates were worried that Young would injure his throwing hand. Luckily, he is unhurt.
Young was the 2006 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year last season.
