Centene Corp.(NYSE:CNC) operator of a multiline healthcare company in the United States plans to obtain Carolina Crescent Health Plan and plans to expand its South Carolina Medicaid enrollment.

Centene said Thursday that its South Carolina subsidiary, Absolute Total Care, signed an agreement to obtain the nonprofit Carolina Crescent from University Health Services Inc. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter, pending state regulator approval.
