Tiger Woods Set to Speak Publicly

This Friday, Tiger Woods will speak publicly for this first time in nearly three months.  Woods will appear in front of a group of people to apologize for his recent sex scandal, which first came to light following his Thanksgiving night car accident, and to discuss his future.  While he will not answer questions from the media, he is inviting three wire services as well as reporters.

The event’s timing is somewhat controversial.  Woods will speak on Friday morning during the third round of the Arizona tournament, the first big golf event of the year.  Most other golfers don’t seem to mind the fact that Tiger’s gathering will take attention away from the tournament; however, Ernie Els has described it as “selfish,” claiming that it “takes a lot away from the golf tournament.”
