A three-team trade between the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Washington Wizards, and the Los Angeles Clippers sent former All-Star Antawn Jamison to Cleveland on Wednesday. The Cavaliers were able to acquire Jamison by sending only Zydrunas Ilgauskas, along with a 2010 first-round draft pick and the rights to Emir Preldzic, to Washington.
Cleveland had previously been in talks with the Phoenix Suns regarding a deal for Amare Stoudemire, but instead opted for the Jamison trade due to Phoenix’s insistence upon the inclusion of J.J. Hickson. Cleveland also acquires Sebastian Telfair, while Al Thornton will head to Wizards and the Clippers will receive Drew Gooden.
Jamison will join MVP LeBron James in his quest for a championship.
