Daytona International Speedway Being Repaired

Pothole Being Filled With Concrete

A large pothole that was produced during Sunday’s Daytona 500 race is currently being repaired.  The damage occurred at Turn 2 of Daytona International Speedway and has forced two delays during the NASCAR series

Asphalt specialists from North American Testing Corp. are making the repairs by replacing a strip of pavement with reinforced concrete.  This is the first time that such an incident has occurred on this track and it should take around a week for the repairs to be completed.  After the hole is patched up, it will be tested for durability and the rest of the track’s integrity will be inspected as well.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has been particularly critical of the track.
