Prior to DUI arrest Lindsay Lohan says she’d never drink and drive
A little over a day before Lindsay Lohan was arrested for her first DUI, the actress told Elle magazine in an interview that she would never drink and drive.
Lohan says living under the constant media attention is hard. “It’s scary… they’re looking for me to, like, trip, so they can be like, ‘Oh, Lindsay’s wasted and driving drunk.’ I wouldn’t violate…I’m much more responsible than that. I would not do that.”
Thirty-six hours after the interview she was arrested on DUI charges following a car crash. She was checked into rehab and released 45 days later. On July 24 she was arrested for a second DUI after she was pulled over for chasing another car.
The troubled actress also blamed the media for ‘distorting’ her life saying, “I hear things about the night before they even happen. Like, they said I was dating my best friend – the Samantha Ronson thing. She’s my best friend!”
Lohan is facing possible jail time following her second DUI arrest and is currently in a “safe place.” The troubled “Mean Girls” star is also facing charges including stolen vehicle and false imprisonment.
