The latest sports prodigy has been discovered. He plays tennis, his name is Jan Silva and he is five years old. Some say is the next Tiger Woods. His family believes he is the next Andre Agassi or Pete Sampras.
His parents have sold their house in California and two cars in order to move to France and placed Jan in the Patrick Mouratoglou Tennis Academy. The Academy is estimated to cost close to $140,000 per year, which is quite expensive for the family of five, especially since oldest son Kadyn, 11, is also a budding tennis player.
Initially, the Silvas were interested in the IMG/Nick Bolletteri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, FL, the premier tennis academy in the United States. However, the Academy was reluctant to offer a scholarship to a five-year old. The $50,000 cost was too much for the Silvas to bear, so Mouratoglou stepped in and has sponsored Silva in his training. He has offered them a three-bedroom villa and a car, in addition to taking Kadyn in.
