Eddie Murphy had something to say about Melanie Brown’s statement that they planned to have a baby. ‘Scary Spice’ and the actor previously dated, and Brown got pregnant. She always claimed the baby was his, and even went as far as to say that they planned to pregnancy.
“She (their daughter Angel Iris) will always know that she was planned and wanted by the both of us,” Brown said.
Murphy and Brown split before the former Spice Girl gave birth to Angel Iris. When Murphy would not acknowledge he was the father, Brown took legal action and forced him to take a paternity test. The test proved the Murphy was the baby’s father.
Earlier this week Brown filed paternity papers against Murphy. Murphy responded to the legal action taken by Brown and released a statement.
“Eddie Murphy always has and will continue to honor his responsibilities as a father. Mr. Murphy and Ms. Brown dated briefly and never made plans of ANY sort,” the statement reads. “He acknowledges paternity of the child Angel, and has paid child support to Ms. Brown as well as covering the expenses of her pregnancy.”
“Mr. Murphy views this as a private matter and as such, will not be making and further comments about it,” it concludes.
