With his NFL career in limbo Tennessee Titans embattled cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones has opted to take his fight to a new arena. On Thursday Jones will step inside the squared circle for the first time as he kicks off a stint in professional wrestling.
In a statement released by Jones he said “I am a big fan of wrestling, so I wanted to give it a try. I respect wrestling and I'm not coming in like it's just a show. I want to prove that I am the greatest team-sport athlete.”
Jones has already signed a contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling despite the fact that his NFL contract forbids any non-football activities that could cause injuries.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Pacman for the 2007 season after the 23-year-old violated the league’s personal conduct rule. Since being drafted by the Titans in 2005 Jones has been arrested six times.
