What do 45 of the world’s leading health experts have in common?

YogaHub’s 1st Virtual World Yoga Conference on yoga, health and happiness is scheduled to take place from February 19 to 21, 2010. 

Every individual from around the globe will have the opportunity to participate in this virtual health conference through the power of the web and private conference phone lines. To make it easier for participants to select their areas of interest, the conference will be divided into three separate yet linked areas: yoga; health and happiness; and wellness. Participants are free to focus on their specific area of interest or broaden their knowledge by partaking in sessions from all three areas. If registrants are unable to participate in any session due to a scheduling conflict, they will have the opportunity to listen to any presentations they may have missed as each workshop will be recorded and made available to them for a limited period of time through the website.

Yoga enthusiasts who are interested in learning more about yoga online will benefit from Michael Lee’s workshop “Yoga for emotional health and resiliency.” Michael, a renowned expert in yoga training and the founder of Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, is the author of “Turn stress into bliss” and “Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy: Bridge from the body to soul”. His session will provide individuals with ways to maximize resiliency, minimize stress, and enjoy great emotional well-being on a daily basis.

Other workshops focusing on yoga training include:

Participants interested in health and happiness should tune into Megan McDonough’s “A Minute for Me: Learning how to savor sixty seconds”.   • Giving the Mind A Bone: Meditations for Mood Management” by Amy Weintraub, author of “Yoga for Depression” and founding director of the LifeForce Yoga Healing Institute. Amy will go through self-soothing techniques focusing on sound, breath, and hand gestures (“mudras”) that enable the busy mind to rest.

  • Kindred Spirits: How the Human Animal Bond can help Awaken Consciousness and Help our Planet” by Dr. Allen Schoen, a pioneer in holistic, integrative veterinary medicine, and author of “Kindred Spirits, How the Remarkable Bond Between Humans and Animals Can Change the Way We Live”. Dr. Schoen will discuss how the human-animal bond can help awaken people to a new level of conscious awareness.
Participants interested in the wellness sessions of this health conference will benefit from Neil Pearson’s presentation on “Understanding pain and chronic pain”. Neil will summarize the most common problems faced by people in pain and discuss how to yoga techniques can lead to management and even alleviation of pain.
