“Big Brother” grounds pilot for flying banners

Producers of the hit reality show “Big Brother” have grounded a pilot they are accusing of planning to ruin the show. Jerry Hider of Blue Yonder Air received a “cease and desist” letter from lawyers for Endemol USA Inc. The letter ordered Hider to stop flying his plane over the Big Brother 8 house.

Endemol accuses Hider of planning to fly over with a message revealing that Eric is “America’s Player.” Endemol says that Hider would violate a “tort of intentional interference of an advantageous business relationship.”

Hider says that he was not trying to ruin the game; he was only doing what he was paid to do. He wouldn’t give the name of the person who paid him to make the run. Hider says that he won’t try to fight Endemol and CBS. “If I had a bunch of attorney’s I would fight this, but it’s not worth my time."

“It’s always great to have fans that are this engaged and passionate about ‘Big Brother.’ However, we also need to protect the integrity of the competition, which does not allow any outside influence on the houseguest who are sequestered from the public broadcast and therefore unaware of some of the secret twists in the show,” CBS said in a statement.
