The long awaited Van Halen reunion tour is apparently ready to be announced and with it will come the news that former frontman David Lee Roth will bring his eccentric style back to the stage for the 50-date American run.
Roth, 52, left Van Halen in April 1985 and pursued a solo career that never truly panned out. He was replaced by Sammy Hagar and Van Halen continued its success through the 1990s.
Earlier this summer a reunion tour was planned but Guitarist Eddie Van Halen entered a rehab clinic and the tour never got off the ground. With Eddie healthy and brother Alex Van Halen on drums only Michael Anthony will be missing from the tour. Eddie’s son Wolfgang will take Anthony’s place on bass.
Having formed in 1974, Van Halen has sold more than 80 million albums worldwide and earned the distinction of holding the record for most #1 hits on the Billboard Mainstream Rock list.
