Reggie Miller Mulls Coming Out of Retirement for Celtics

Reggie Miller has been contacted by the Boston Celtics to return from retirement to play for their revamped squad. Miller, who turns 42 on August 24, retired after 18 seasons with the Indiana Pacers in 2005 and has been a color commentator for TNT ever since.

Miller said he is content with his job at TNT, but has sought advice from family, friends and fellow players before making a final decision. The lure of playing with Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen has enticed Miller to at least think about the possibility of playing for the Celtics. The team has said they want his veteran leadership and only want him to play about 15 minutes a game.

Miller has never earned a championship ring. With the opportunity to play with these three All-Stars in a limited role, he could finally get something he has coveted his entire career.

Miller is seventh all-time in games played with 1,323. He is 13th in scoring (25,279) and holds the NBA record for the most made 3-pointers in NBA history with 2,560. He was also named to five All-Star teams.
